Where do I begin? Personally, I think I've been jaded from traveling so many places. I think Key West is simply another tourist trap that swallows up your money. I'm sure back when Hemingway was alive and living here the place was beautiful and I suppose to a select few the place is still very beautiful but for me it just seemed over-crowded and busy - and I wasn't even there during a real tourist season, Covid-19 putting a damper into the number of people that would have actually been there.
At least now I can say I've been there. Woopie!!! My
recommendation, unless you have specific plans to go deep sea fishing or visiting a secluded private beach its not worth the trip. The drive itself will
take you more than 4 hours, coming and going. The traffic is horrific and
again I didn't experience "true" tourist traffic. I can only
imagine the nightmare.
But there are beautiful views. Enjoy!
