And now for the infamous Ernest Hemingway home. Please, please, remind me to never go see a dead man's house again. Ha! I've seen enough of people-who-are-older-than-me-but-are-now-dead houses for a lifetime and they aren't much different. And the $36 I spent could have gone to a lot more fulfilling adventures. And yes, that was just for entry into the grounds and did not include a guided tour.
I think the most fascinating part was being able to see his "man cave." Yes, he had a man cave, although it is definitely different than what we'd think of a man cave today. It looked like a place where he could take solace from the day's cares and ponder on what he might write next. No doubt he was a gifted writer but in many ways he would have fit into the progressive lifestyle of today having been a communist sympathizer in his later years. Hmmm, I wonder why that was never mentioned in any of the displays in his home?
